A shoe that stays light and still stands out

The upper is built from a fine mesh that gives with the foot and lets air pass through it. Over the top of it run overlapping panels that hold the shoe together, while the lacing decides how firmly it sits. Underneath, a flat sole closes the shape.

Design Highlights

The mesh carries the whole upper, so the shoe stays light on the foot through a long day instead of pressing at the instep. The panels crossing the sides give the soft material a structure it would not hold on its own, and the stitched edges stop the mesh from stretching out of shape. The lacing runs through a simple eyelet line that can be set once and then trusted, and the low cut leaves the ankle free to move. The sole is kept flat and close to the ground, which keeps the step even and the balance easy on a pavement.

How to Style It

With straight jeans and a light knit it reads as a plain shoe for a working day. Against wide trousers and a long coat it stays quiet and light at the foot. Keep the hem short enough to show the ankle and let the mesh texture be the only detail.
