A boot for the cold that does not look heavy

The shaft reaches just over the ankle, and the inside carries a soft lining. The lacing pulls the boot firm across the instep, and a sole with a deep tread closes the shape underneath. It is built for winter without turning into a walking boot.

Design Highlights

The lining lies warm against the foot and holds the heat in through a long walk, which matters most on a pavement that stays cold all day. The lacing runs from the instep to the top of the shaft and can be drawn as firm as the ground asks, while the padded collar sits soft against the ankle instead of cutting into it. The sole is cut with a coarse tread that grips on wet stone and loose gravel alike, and the shaft is kept narrow so the boot still reads as a clean shape rather than a heavy one.

How to Style It

With straight jeans and a heavy coat it reads plain and warm for a cold morning. With a knit and a wide trouser it turns into the boot for a weekend out of the city. Keep the hem narrow enough to sit inside the shaft, and let the tread do the work underfoot.

A winter boot that stays warm and stays easy on the eye.
