A boot that stays closed all day

An ankle boot does its best work when nothing needs adjusting. This one closes with a strap across the instep and a zip at the side, so the fit is set once and the day carries on. The shaft sits just above the ankle and holds a narrow line, and the heel stays low and block shaped so the step lands steady.

Design Highlights

The strap crosses the instep and is held by a metal buckle that opens and closes in one movement. A zip runs up the side and widens the shaft so the foot goes in without pulling. The toe is rounded and softly shaped, and the sole is built thick with a flat tread that grips pavement and smooth floors alike. A loop at the heel helps when it is time to pull the boot on.

How to Style It

Over a narrow jean it keeps the look closed and clear from knee to floor. With a wide skirt and a long sweater it sets a quieter accent at the ankle. A straight trouser worn over the shaft also works well under a longer coat. Keep the hem short enough to meet the boot cleanly so the strap stays visible.

A boot that holds its shape and its grip from morning to evening.
