A clear line, closed in one pull

Some mornings ask for something that goes on without a struggle. This jacket sits quietly on the upper body and ends at the hip, and the zip runs from the hem to just under the chin so the whole thing closes in one movement.

Design Highlights

The high collar holds a flat hood that folds down inside it and only comes up when the weather turns. Quilting runs evenly across the front, the back and the sleeves, which keeps the surface flat instead of bulky and holds warmth close to the body. The cuffs are elastic so they stay where they are put, and two side pockets sit low enough for a hand to fall into them. The edges are bound cleanly, which keeps the outline straight from shoulder to hem, and the hem holds its line when the jacket is worn open.

How to Style It

Over a knit and straight jeans it reads plain enough for the morning and warm enough for the walk home. With a wide trouser and a fine scarf it turns a little smarter for a working day. Keep what sits underneath light so the quilting stays flat, and let the hidden hood keep the collar standing on its own.
